On Tuesday, June 9, 2026, the Peace Education Hub of the Faculty of Philosophy in Sarajevo hosted the dialogue workshop “Veterans and Youth for Peace”. The workshop was implemented in cooperation with the Association “Pravi požar” – an association for support to war veterans, families and victims of war in Bosnia and Herzegovina. This workshop is part of the program Constructive Use of Veterans Dialogue (KUVI) which the Association “Pravi požar” has been organizing since 2011 in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the region.

Three veterans from three armies that were in the armed conflict in Bosnia and Herzegovina from 1992 to 19995 participated in the specially structured workshop. The workshop was implemented in two parts. In the first, introductory part, the veterans spoke about their personal experiences of war and trauma, while in the second part, the veterans answered students’ questions. The workshop was attended by students from the Department of History, the Department of Pedagogy and the Department of English, and they showed great interest and dedication to the topic, actively participating in the conversation and sharing experiences from their own environment.
