Peace Education Hub had the pleasure of welcoming Marjan Montazemi on June 14, 2023 at the Faculty of Philosophy, University of Sarajevo. Marjan has around 25 years of experience in the field of international and community development working with NGOs, foundations and the United Nations. She has worked in Canada, Iran, in countries in the Western Balkans, Western and Central Africa, Middle East and Central Asia. She has a Masters Degree in Political Sciences and she is an MA candidate in International Peace Studies (2023) at the University for Peace. As a Canadian of Iranian origins who lived in Bosnia and worked for the local NGO in the early 2000s, Marjan feels deeply connected to the issues of peace in BiH with a genuine desire to contribute to peacebuilding with her own research work on emancipatory peace. Sharing of perspectives and cultural connections with Marjan opened up the possibility of exchange of knowledge and experience in the future.
