As part of the announced activities celebrating the 75th anniversary of the founding and work of the Department of English Language and Literature, the Department hosted representatives from the British Embassy: Pooja Naidu Kingsley, Regional Conflict Adviser for the Western Balkans, and Biljana Ristović, Communications Manager.
The visit took place on May 19, 2026, as part of the ELT Methodology course, taught by Prof. Dr. Larisa Kasumagić-Kafedžić. Given the chosen topic of discussion, the coordination of the visit also involved the Center for Peace Education, which was represented by Prof. Dr. Lejla Mulalić alongside Prof. Dr. Larisa Kasumagić-Kafedžić.

During the visit Ms. Pooja Naidu Kingsley discussed with teacher education master’s students the topic of peacebuilding in post-conflict societies, with a specific emphasis on the role of education and English language teachers in this process. The guest shared her personal experiences working in conflict and post-conflict countries across different parts of the world. As future teachers, the students who participated in this conversation demonstrated great interest and deep understanding of their own role and responsibility in promoting humanistic values in their teaching, which left an exceptionally positive impression on the British Embassy representatives and opened up opportunities for new forms of cooperation with both students and teachers.
