On September 22, 2026, the Peace Education Hub (University of Sarajevo – Faculty of Philosophy) and non-governmental organisation Pro Peace organized a workshop for students led by Adisa Bašić, a writer and assistant professor at the Department of Comparative Literature and Information Sciences. The workshop, entitled “(Re)imagining Peace through Literature: A Book about Almir,” was held at the Faculty of Philosophy to mark the International Day of Peace.

Writer Adisa Bašić spoke with students of English Language and Literature, Psychology, Art History, Pedagogy, Comparative Literature and Information Sciences, as well as Literature of the Peoples of Bosnia and Herzegovina, about her novel A Book about Almir. She invited them to reflect on the issue of memory, as well as on the importance of telling stories about war in order to find a path toward peace, particularly in the context of intergenerational gaps and challenges.
As part of this dialogue, through their active participation and sharing of stories, the students raised important questions about humanity and an open approach to the past with the workshop facilitator, thereby placing the values of peace at the centre of attention.

In addition to students, the workshop was also attended by professors from several departments of the Faculty of Philosophy.
