On 27 November 2025, under the umbrella of Peace Education Hub (University of Sarajevo- Faculty of Philosophy), a workshop titled “Integrative Framework for Peace Education” was held in the UNESCO premises in Sarajevo, as part of the project “Peace Education in Bosnia and Herzegovina: Creating a Culture of Peace and Intercultural Understanding in Formal Education”.  This is the second workshop this year, which gathered four working groups with a total of 20 participants, representing different levels of education. The goal was to jointly review, adapt, and improve the draft of the key peace education framework and teachers’ peace competencies that will be applied in preschool, primary, secondary, and higher education.

During the presentations, the participants:

  • analyzed the proposed themes, competencies, and learning outcomes
  • aligned the framework with existing subjects and cross-curricular content
  • exchanged practical examples and teaching activities from local and international contexts
  • created an initial repository of quality resources and materials for teachers
  • planned the next steps for finalizing the publication and preparing future trainings

This meeting represents an important phase in developing a comprehensive peace education framework in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Throughout 2025 and 2026, further work will continue to finalize the document, prepare teacher training, develop digital resources, and publicly present the framework.
