As part of the program Dialogue for the Future 3 – Support for initiatives leading to change: Presentation and networking of projects of civil society, educational, and cultural institutions, a panel titled Trust and Dialogue as the Foundation of Strong Communities was held on Thursday, September 25, 2025, in the UN Building, in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Professor Dr. Larisa Kasumagić-Kafedžić, representing the Peace Education Hub (Centar za mirovno obrazovanje), participated in the panel alongside other panellists: Dijana Pejić from the Humanitarian Organization Genesis Project, Banja Luka, and Marko Antonio Brkić from the Ministry of Education and Science of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The panel was moderated by Emir Bašić, project analyst for “Dialogue for the Future 3.”
Professor Kasumagić-Kafedžić made a brief presentation of the Peace Education Hub of the Faculty of Philosophy in Sarajevo and introduced the current project, Education for Peace in Bosnia and Herzegovina: Creating a Culture of Peace and Intercultural Understanding in Formal Education. She highlighted the importance of an institutional approach for integrating peace education into teacher training programs in Bosnia and Herzegovina by referring to the competences framework in peacebuilding in education, which is currently being developed by a team of university professors and teachers from the Peace Hub Sarajevo.
Dialogue for the Future 3 – DFF3 project is implemented by UNDP, UNICEF and UNESCO, in cooperation with the UN Resident Coordinator, and in partnership with the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Ministry of Civil Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The project is funded by the United Nations Secretary General’s Peacebuilding Fund (PBF).
