On Tuesday, May 27, 2025, the Peace Education Hub at the University of Sarajevo- Faculty of Philosophy successfully launched a webinar for the start of a two-year project, which will focus on integrating peacebuilding pedagogies and intercultural learning into formal education in BiH.
The Project envisions developing an integrative peace education curriculum for all levels (pre-primary to higher education), including peacebuilding competency frameworks for teachers and students, thematic modules, and teaching strategies aligned with the existing curriculum. The Project recognizes the crucial role of teachers and plans to feature successful teacher practices in peace education on the project’s online platform, which will benefit a wider community of educators locally and internationally.

In the second year of the Project, peace education training will be provided for teachers in 10 BiH schools supported by mentorship. Professional development webinars with local and international experts in peace education and intercultural learning will be facilitated towards the end of the second year, aimed at teachers’ reflection and collaboration. The Peace Hub website will be further developed as a resource repository for teachers, showcasing lesson samples, projects, and good practices from BiH schools.
Dialogue for the Future 3 – DFF3 project is implemented by UNDP, UNICEF and UNESCO, in cooperation with the UN Resident Coordinator, and in partnership with the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Ministry of Civil Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The project is funded by the United Nations Secretary General’s Peacebuilding Fund (PBF).
