Since its establishment in 2019, the Center for Peace Education (Peace Education Hub) at the Faculty of Philosophy, University of Sarajevo has been dedicated to the mission of promoting a culture of peace through educational initiatives and research in peace pedagogy, as well as the education of students and teachers, to build peace and non-violence in classrooms, schools, and education in general. In line with our mission, we aim to contribute to the commemoration of the 30th anniversary of the Srebrenica genocide by organizing a series of activities, including an exhibition, a workshop for students and teachers from the University of Sarajevo’s teacher education programs, and a webinar with international participation. We are organizing these activities to remind everyone of the importance of teaching about genocide and honoring all victims, and to send a message of peace on the International Day of Peace, which is globally marked on September 21st.
