Our Peace Education Hub hosted the online meeting with Scherto Gill and Ryan O’Byrne on May 7, 2024. Scherto Gill is Professor of Research and Director of Global Humanity for Peace Institute, University of Wales Trinity St David. She directs the UNESCO Initiative on Collective Healing, Social Justice and Global Well-Being. As a researcher, Scherto’s interests centre on understanding peace, human well-being and global flourishing as dynamic processes. Ryan Joseph O’Byrne is a sociocultural anthropologist and Lecturer in Peace Studies with the Global Humanity for Peace Institute (GHfP) and the Institute of Education and Humanities at UWTSD. During the meeting we presented our projects, our Centers and our experiences in peacebuilding research and teaching.

We also explored options for future collaboration and ways of bringing our programs closer together through visiting lectures, webinars or joint projects with students and other scholars which will be explored in the coming months.
