Representatives of the “The Day After” Foundation from Ukraine visited the Center for Peace Education of the Faculty of Philosophy in Sarajevo on May 13, 2025. Their study visit was organized within the framework of the project “Trends in Women, Peace and Security. The Case of the Western Balkans and Ukraine”, which was implemented by the aforementioned foundations and funded by the organization Women for Women International. The project aims to support women’s participation in post-war processes in Ukraine through networking, education, and exchange of experiences with women’s movements in countries that have gone through major security challenges and begun post-conflict recovery. The project seeks to establish a dialogue and exchange of experiences between Ukrainian, Bosnian, and Kosovo women’s organizations and human rights organizations on post-conflict resolution, to prepare for just and sustainable peace, reconciliation in communities, and to strengthen national unity in societies. Representatives of the Center for Peace Education, Prof. Dr. Larisa Kasumagić Kafedžić and Dr. Melisa Forić Plasto, presented the activities of the Peace Hub and the importance of peace education at all levels of upbringing and education to build and maintain peace, especially in conflict and post-conflict societies, and the role that teachers play in the reconciliation process. The participants of the meeting expressed great gratitude for the organization of this meeting and announced the possibility of cooperation on a document of recommendations in which the experiences, lessons, and achievements of the Center for Peace Education would find their place.
