On April 15, 2026, an online presentation of the project “Education for Peace in Bosnia and Herzegovina: Creating a Culture of Peace and Intercultural Understanding in Formal Education (2025–2027)” was held, during which the Integrative Competency Framework was presented.
During the presentation, key project activities were introduced, including the development of teaching materials, the organization of seminars and webinars, and the work of three working teams covering preschool, primary and secondary, and higher education. All three teams presented their work to date on the development of the Integrative Competency Framework, including defined competencies, thematic units, and practical examples for different levels of education. The project envisages the implementation of activities in 10 schools across Bosnia and Herzegovina, at the University in Sarajevo, and in a group of preschool educators, all in the coming months, and with the aim of strengthening a culture of peace and intercultural understanding in the long term.

On the same day, at the UNESCO premises in Sarajevo, a workshop was held focusing on the development of one-day training concepts for different levels of education.
The workshop brought together all Project team members with the aim of collaboratively designing training sessions tailored to preschool, primary, secondary, and higher education. During the introductory session, the objectives and expected outcomes of the workshop were presented, followed by an open discussion on team structure and the organization of further work. In the continuation of the workshop, participants exchanged ideas regarding the timeline for the implementation of the training. Availability, as well as potential planning challenges, were also discussed. The central part of the workshop was dedicated to teamwork. Participants, grouped according to education levels, worked on developing initial concepts for one-day training sessions. The focus was on defining objectives, content, methods, and expected outcomes, alongside sharing experiences and examples of good practice.
The workshop concluded with a summary of key takeaways and the definition of next steps, including further development of the training concepts, setting specific dates, and continued coordination among teams. This workshop represents an important step towards the development of high-quality, tailored educational training seminars, with a strong emphasis on collaboration, knowledge exchange, and joint planning.
