The Institute for European Studies in the Mario Einaudi Center for International Studies of Cornell University has selected Aleksandra Waledziak for the Summer Internship Fellowship, which will take place in June 2023 (remotely from Cornell) and July 2023 (on the ground in Sarajevo). Aleksandra will join our Peace Education Hub team by contributing to the research initiatives and education for peace activities, which are integral to the mission and the projects of our Center.
Aleksandra Waledziak is a rising junior at Cornell University, studying government along the intersections of international relations, education and social equity. Born and raised in Chicago, she comes from a family of Polish immigrants, making her a first-generation college student–an identity she is proud to hold and extend into a wonderful community of other first-generation students on Cornell’s campus and beyond. As a collaborative learner, she is very excited to join a dedicated team of students and faculty members in Sarajevo this summer, immersing herself in the two-decade-long ABC Project, the research on Teacher Education for Peace, as well as rich Bosnian culture, history, and tradition.
